The Board

The Board of Medicinska Föreningen (MF) is the executive body that manages the daily activities of the student union. The Board is responsible for MF’s finances and administration, prepares the budget, compiles the annual report, hires employees and determines their terms of employment and decides on various daily matters.

The Board consists of 7-13 members that are appointed by the Union Council (FuM) at FuM’s statutory meeting. The Board answers to FuM and prepares matters that are decided by FuM. The previous year’s President, the Inspector, the chairpersons of MF’s committees and the auditors are invited and co-opted to all Board meetings. The Board may also co-opt others who they consider should be present when dealing with a specific issue.

The Presidium 2020

The Presidium consists of the President and the vice President of MF. They are assigned to represent and speak for MF. The Presidium shall also ensure that decisions made by FuM and the Board are executed.

The President and vice President are renumerated full-time for their positions.

Jessica Härtell - President

Medical programme, between T8-T9

[email protected]
08-524 830 77

Jessica has been active in MF since 2012 when she first became involved in the Programme Committee (PrU). Within PrU, she took on positions as materials manager, internal minister, patches manager and vice chairperson of 2015.

At the beginning of 2017, Jessica was employed as MF’s administrator, shortly thereafter the premises manager quit and she also took over all work with MF’s rental operations. During the year as an employee at MF, the interest in the administration and organization of the student union was awakened and Jessica has since been a member of the Administation Committee, the Sports Cabin Committee and the Communication Committee. Within the Communications Committee, Jessica has been responsible for the website (still is) and the newsletter Thalamus.

During the year as President, Jessica wants to make MF more visible to all students at KI both on the Solna and Flemingsberg campus and create better meeting places for the members, through the project “Framtidens Kårhus” as well as in MF’s new premises in “Kårridoren” on Campus Flemingsberg. Other mattters of the heart are development of communication and information flow within MF as well as a review of documentation and routines.

Jessica is also human resources manager for MF’s employees.

Fun facts: Jessica was born and raised in the small Finnish-Swedish village of Vörå in Finland. She loves to build large awkward cardboard outfits to walk around in, preferably on a boat with lots of students in overalls “ovvar” from all over Sweden.

Puck Norell - Vice President

Master’s Programme in Toxicology, graduate VT20

[email protected]
08-524 830 76

Puck started her journey at MF when she joined the Programme Committee (PrU) in 2015. After that a number of different positions followed; in 2016 Puck was vice chairperson of the International Committee, member of the Nominating Committee and the Equal Treatment Commission, in 2017 she joined the Communication Committee and in 2019 she was part of the Election Commission and the board of the Biomedical Educational Section. Puck has also been the secretary of MF both in 2016 and 2019.

Puck is most passionate about the integration of students and documentation. Ever since she started at KI she has been working to make it easier for international and national students to socialize and find each other in the student union. Puck wants MF to feel like the obvious place to go when you want to feel at home on campus. She describes herself as super nerdy when it comes to documentation (“I can sit for hours and organize binders, color-coded excites me!”)

Puck is also assisting human rescoures manager for MF’s employees as well as convening of the MF COVID-19 resource group.

Fun facts: Puck loves everything that has to do with Tolkien and Lord of the Rings. She hasn’t yet been to New Zealand, but she has completed the fellowship quest at the Hobbit pub in Southampton!
