Medicinska Föreningen’s award for an outstanding educator and teacher at Karolinska Institutet. The nomination period is open from November 5 to 16.
Mäster is awarded to a teacher who, over an extended period of time, has conducted their teaching in an inspiring and pedagogically exemplary manner, or who has initiated and implemented lasting improvements in education.
Now, as a member of Medicinska Föreningen, you have the chance to nominate a teacher at Karolinska Institutet for the Mäster Award! Feel free to coordinate with some classmates, your section, or other members of Medicinska Föreningen. The nomination must be supported by at least 5 union members of Medicinska Föreningen.
What is Mäster – in memory of Dan Grandér?
The Mäster Award has for many years been presented annually to a teacher at Karolinska Institutet for their contributions to student education. After Medicinska Föreningen was contacted by Dan Grandér’s brother, Jonas Grandér, and the Einhorn Family Foundation, Mäster is being awarded for the first time in memory of Dan Grandér, who received Mäster in 2010.

“Mäster is awarded to teachers who, over an extended period of time, have conducted their teaching in an inspiring and pedagogically exemplary manner, or who have initiated and implemented lasting improvements in education.”

When the nomination period ends, the Education Council (consisting of the Chair of the Education Council, section representatives, and student representatives) will select 3 candidates from the submitted nominations. All union members will then have the opportunity to vote. The person with the most votes will be awarded Mäster – in memory of Dan Grandér 2025.
The recipient of Mäster – in memory of Dan Grandér will receive a silver nameplate, a diploma, and a prize of 50,000 SEK. The award will be presented at the Lucia Ball, to which Mäster and their partner will be invited.
It is possible to nominate a candidate until Sunday, November 16.

In 2021, Mäster is being awarded for the first time in memory of Dan Grandér, who received Mäster in 2010.
The recipient of the award will receive a silver nameplate, a diploma from the Association, and a prize of 50,000 SEK from Dan Grandér’s brother, Jonas Grandér, through the Einhorn Family Foundation. The award will be presented at the Lucia Ball on December 13.
