Biomedical Educational Section (BUS)

The Biomedical Educational Section (Biomedicinska Utbildningssektionen, BUS) is the section for students at the Bachelor’s Programme in Biomedicine, Master’s Programme in Biomedicine, Master’s Programme on Biostatistics and Data Science Master’s Programme in Toxicology, Master’s Programme in Molecular Techniques in Life Science, Master’s Programme in Nutrition Science and Master’s in Translational Physiology and Pharmacology at Karolinska Institutet. As a member of Medicinska Föreningen and registered at one of the programmes you are a member of BUS.

The section’s main focus is to gather students and discuss matters concerning the education as well as the educational development in the programmes. The student’s interest towards KI in general is also represented through representation in decision-making committees across university departments and management. The section is also involved in organizing events and social activities for the students during the year. Some of our recent events range between dinners and events on campus, weekends at Solvik to sending a delegation to compete in the national brännboll tournament, Bio-bollen, and others.

As a student representative in BUS you have the unique opportunity to participate in steering your education and bring forward any ideas you might have about the social and academic developments for the programs under the BUS umbrella. The elections take place annually during October, but if you would like to become active at any time during the year – you are welcomed to message us!
