Secretary

The Secretary is a board member and takes the minutes at all board meetings. The Secretary also records the minutes at the General Assembly meetings. This position is compensated with a symbolic fee.

Board member

Board Member

The Board leads the Medical Student Union and is the highest executive body of the student union. As a board member, you will participate in decision-making on strategic matters, support committees and sections, and have specific areas of responsibility or contribute to working groups with focused tasks within the board. The Board is responsible for implementing decisions made by the General Assembly and the Board itself. This position is compensated with a symbolic fee.

Host

The position of Host is an honorary role. The Host, together with the Hostess, executes and embodies the Medical Student Union’s hospitality at official events hosted by MF. The hosting couple sends personal invitations to those invited to MF’s gatherings and parties, compiles registration lists for the Program Committee, and arranges the seating plan for the events. During the parties, the hosts welcome the guests, manage MF’s guestbook, answer questions, and ensure the guests have an enjoyable time.

  • Term: July 2025 – June 2026 (the Hostess is elected in the fall for the period January 1 – December 31)

Election Committee – Chairperson, Secretary, and Members

The Election Committee organizes the student union election for the General Assembly (FuM) which will take place in the fall of 2025. In practice, this involves announcing the election so that all MF members can run for office, creating election posters for all candidates, sending a voting link via email to all members, and compiling and publishing the election results.

  • Number of positions: 1 Chairperson, 1 Secretary, and 1-5 Members

  • Term: 1 year

Vice Chair of the Education Council

As the Vice Chair of the Education Council, you will support the Chairperson of the Education Council, who is responsible for all student representation within MF, and assist in preparing the election of student representatives at both the central and institutional levels.

The Education Council functions as an umbrella organization for all sections engaged in student representation within their specific programs and as a central hub for student representatives.

Responsible for the Partnership Program

As the Partnership Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing the relationships with the Medical Student Union’s partners and recruiting new partners. This includes:

  • Identifying potential new partners that align with the Medical Student Union’s profile as a medical student union

  • Meeting with potential partners

  • Negotiating agreements with new partners in line with the goals of the partnership program

  • Coordinating existing partnerships and acting as the main contact for the Medical Student Union’s partners

  • Ensuring that the Medical Student Union meets its obligations under partnership agreements

  • Overseeing the planning and execution of events and the recruitment process of students working for our partners

Nominating Commission – chair, secretary and members

The Nomination Committee prepares the election of positions of trust and student representative positions to be elected by the General Assembly. This involves announcing the available positions, collecting candidacies, and presenting their nominations to the General Assembly for who should be elected to these positions. Before presenting any suggestions, the Nomination Committee, to the best of its ability, ensures that the nominated candidates meet the requirements for the respective position, for example, by conducting interviews with candidates for the central positions of trust.

Election Committee – Chairperson, Secretary, and Members

The Election Committee organizes the student union election for the Medical Student Union’s General Assembly (FuM) to be held in the fall of 2025. In practice, this includes announcing the election so that all MF members can run for office and vote, creating election posters for all candidates, sending the voting link via email to all members, and compiling and publishing the election results.

  • Positions available: 1 Chairperson, 1 Vice Chairperson, and 2-5 Members

  • Term: July 2025 – June 2026

  • Eligibility: Member

  • Language requirements: Swedish or English (at least one member must have knowledge of Swedish)

Scholarship Reviewing Commission – chair and members

The Scholarship Review Committee is responsible for preparing matters related to the awarding of scholarships that the Board will decide upon. This includes proposing when the Board should announce scholarships from the foundations managed by MF, reviewing all incoming applications, and recommending to the Board who should be awarded the scholarships.

Librarian

The position of Librarian is an honorary role and involves overseeing and maintaining the Medical Student Union’s library. The Librarian is responsible for the library and its inventory, as well as acquiring materials such as medical history books and medical journals for MF. The Librarian should also provide the editorial board of MF’s journal Medicor with interesting articles or notices from older materials in the library.

Operations auditors and substitutes

The task of the Auditors is to review the operations of the Medical Student Union to ensure that the statutes have been followed, that the organization is developing, and that decisions have been made correctly. This involves reviewing all the minutes produced during the year and providing a statement on how well the union’s bodies have fulfilled their duties.

Auditors and substitutes for the foundations managed by MF

The role of the Auditors is to review the management of the foundations that the Medical Student Union administers and ensure that, during the operational year, the law, statutes, and regulations have been followed correctly. The Medical Student Union manages the following foundations:

    During the validation period, the Nomination Committee will review all incoming candidacies and nominations and conduct interviews for larger positions. The Nomination Committee will then compile its nominations and send them to the General Assembly (FuM). The positions of Vice Chair for the Education Council and Partnership Program Coordinator are selected by MF’s Board.

    You will be contacted by the Nomination Committee with more information regarding whether you have been nominated for a position, as well as details about the FuM meeting or Board meeting where the positions of trust will be elected.

  • 21st of May

    Union council meeting

    On Wednesday, May 21st at 18:00, the General Assembly (FuM) will have its meeting. During this meeting, positions of trust will be elected, except for the positions of Vice Chair for the Education Council and Partnership Program Coordinator, which will instead be selected by the Board.

    The meeting will take place in the student union building, and the Nomination Committee will send more information to all applicants. If you have been nominated for a position, you will be invited to attend and present yourself.

    Even if you have not been nominated by the Nomination Committee, you still have the opportunity to attend the meeting and have the chance to present yourself and be elected if FuM decides to allow open nominations
