Recipients of Crux Magna Medicorum 2021

The Board has decided to award this year’s Crux Magna Medicorum to Laura Andersson, Jessica Härtell and Carl Johan Sundberg. Warm congratulations and thank you for your long-standing, comprehensive and immeasurable commitment to Medicinska Föreningen!

Crux Magna Medicorum was instituted by the Board in 1981 and is the highest medal of honour awarded by the Board of Medicinska Föreningen. The medal is awarded to those whose commitment for Medicinska Föreningen has been long-standing, comprehensive and immeasurable. The medal can be awarded to members, previous members, staff and others who have dedicated their work to the student union. The Board decides whom to honour with the medal. A maximum of six medals can be awarded at each occasion. The medal is awarded annually at the Lucia Ball on the 13th of December.

Laura Andersson

Laura Andersson has been active in the central MF organization since 2017, and has worked hard during her time at Karolinska Institutet, and afterwards, in order to maintain and develop the common assets we have in the student union, such as the union house and Solvik. She assumed responsibility during a time for true need, and became the chair of the Administration Committee.

Laura’s positions within Medicinska Föreningen include; chair of the Reception Committee and the Administration Committee, vice speaker of the union council, member of the Programme Committee, Kårhusstiftelsen and the Sports Cabin Commission and Vice President of Medicinska Föreningen.

For her long-standing, comprehensive and immeasurable work within Medicinska Föreningen, the Board has decided to award Laura Andersson the honorary medal Crux Magna Medicorum.

Jessica Härtell

Jessica Härtell has, more than any other, created structure, routine and proper documentation in many parts of our organization. Throughout the years, her broad range of engagement in Medicinska Föreningen has been vital in the upkeeping and development of the student union’s communication, enabling transparency and creating clarity. Thousands of hours spent in the service of our student union.

Jessica’s positions within Medicinska Föreningen include; member of the Communication Committee and the Administration Committee, vice chair of the Programme Committee and the Election Commission, vice speaker of the union council and President of Medicinska Föreningen.

For her long-standing, comprehensive and immeasurable work within Medicinska Föreningen, the Board has decided to award Jessica Härtell the honorary medal Crux Magna Medicorum.

Carl Johan Sundberg

Carl Johan Sundberg has been the backbone, continuity, and champion of Medicinska Föreningen for the past ten years. As chairman of Kårhusstiftelsen, he initiated and developed the project Framtidens Kårhus, that has brought in 34 million Swedish crowns for a renovation of the union house. For over a decade, Carl Johan has supported, challenged and nurtured our student union with his vast knowledge, experience and contact network.

Carl Johans positions within Medicinska Föreningen include chairman of Kårhusstiftelsen, and decennial Inspector of the association.

For his long-standing, comprehensive and immeasurable work within Medicinska Föreningen, the Board has decided to award Carl Johan Sundberg the honorary medal Crux Magna Medicorumm.
