Varför vill du var med i FuM: I wish to join the Union Council (FuM) because I believe student representation is both a duty and a privilege. FuM, as the highest decision-making body of Medicinska Föreningen (MF), sets activity plans, budgets and bylaws and elects key positions.
I am committed to ensuring that MF’s mission is fulfilled, supporting education, defending students’ rights and fostering equality and social engagement. I want to listen to students across all Sections and Associations, understand their concerns and transform them into well-founded, representative positions.
Drawing on my experience chairing assemblies and safeguarding democratic procedures, I aim to help FuM uphold and develop statutes and ensure that committees, commissions and employees can work effectively. Joining FuM means using my time at Karolinska Institutet to strengthen democratic participation and make sure every student group can thrive.
Erfarenheter: At Instituto Superior Técnico (Lisbon), I was elected by my peers as Student Member of the School Assembly Board, co-conducting meetings of a 60-member body (30 professors, 20 students, 10 staff). I ensured debates followed the statutes, updated and adapted the Assembly’s regulations and shaped agendas so that issues important to the whole community were addressed.
Alongside this, as Vice-President for External Affairs of AEIST, I represented over 12 000 students in national higher-education forums, turning positions approved in student general assemblies into concrete policy advocacy.
I also served as Director of Communication & Marketing Office, School Assembly member, Pedagogical Council member and Programme Representative, working on curriculum reform, quality assurance and student-rights protection.
These roles honed skills in meeting facilitation, policy and regulation development, negotiation and democratic decision-making, directly relevant to FuM’s responsibility for strategic governance, budgets and statutes.
