Catalina Wirth

Medicine T2

Hej!
I have been student at KI and active within MF for over three years. During that time I have studied both international and Swedish programmes, and experienced both very well and less well functioning aspects of Medicinska Föreningen.
To function in the best possible way, it is crucial for the student union – and especially FuM – to accurately reflect all its members, their values and expectations. After being a part of the union council last year, I would therefore like to apply again, to consolidate the positive changes implemented so far, and further work towards a more inclusive, relevant and fun student union.

August Lundquist

Medicine T7

I want to continue making MF better. This year we have replaced the leadership of MF (first time) to take MF in a new direction. Reduced costs to keep the membership fee low and changed the organizational structure to be slimmer.

Vidar Fors

We all seek to better communities by transforming people’s lives. However, we often forget that our own well-being is important. The success of our community begins when we show that everyone matters regardless of background and ethnicity. I hope to ensure our needs are met during my tenure in FuM.

Upon first glance, I may seem reserved but do no let that deter you from how determined I am. As a Zimbabwean, this is unfamiliar territory which I am boldly embracing. The new culture and way of life. Despite the adversities, my tenacious spirit is what got me here.

Josefine Jonsson

My name is Josefine and I’m a 5th semester student at the medial programme. I have been active within MF’s skit group since my first semester. I am currently vice-president.

I am a medical student on 8th semester, and the vice president of MF 2022.

Gabriel Allgårdh

Medicine T5

Events, shows and parties are central aspects of the MF social community. Since the beginning of this year, I have been working in the aula – located at MF’s union house – aiming to rebuild our ”tilltufsade” sound and lighting system, thus providing better conditions for event managers (PrU, Läsk, Blåslaget, external) who want to use the aula as basis for entertainment.

During this restoration project, I have gotten to know MF’s CEO Göran Carlsson; we have now become colleagues and good friends.

I hope to contribute to MF with my technical knowledge regarding MF’s existing entertainment solution (sound/lights), my musical enthusiasm, and my vivid plans for our future ”Kårhus”.

Samuel Kiby Berglöf

Medicine T9

Medical Student, 9th term. Experience from IFMSA-Sweden as secretary general, treasurer, and chairperson of IFMSA Stockholm, among other positions.

As a union, I believe that MF has huge potential to provide KI students with opportunities for a rich, well-rounded student life. Psychology student

Hi, my name is Max! I’m a psychologystudent who loves MF. I’m a transwoman waiting to go on hormones, so I’m thinking I better use my male privilege before it’s too late!! But I’m mostly just power-crazed.

I’m seeking the position of fullmäktige because being a part of decision-making processes affecting my peers is exhilarating! I’ve always been passionate about listening to complaints and taking these to the people in power! To be enable to help enact such changes here at MF would be delightful.

Lea Vettermann

Biomedicine

As a student at Karolinska Institutet, I want to actively contribute to improving student life. With my existing knowledge in managing finances and events and my experience in mediating roles, I believe I can make a good contribution to decision-making and act as a mouthpiece for the students.

Growing up in Germany, I mainly did volunteer work on inclusion. At school, I was involved in committees regarding finance and event management. During my Bachelor’s in Biomedical Science, I worked as a student assistant, counselling students, mediating between professors, project leaders and students and taking care of overall management.

Shu-Hao Yu

Medicine T3

I see becoming part of the FuM member as a valuable opportunity to support my interest to influence the journey of education and student life here at KI in various aspects. MF being the major student association in many ways advocates for the students of KI. Rather than passive hopes for change, I believe in the ambition of active participation.

My name is Shuhao, currently in my 3rd year of the medical programme. I was born in Taiwan but I moved to Stockholm with my family at the age of ten. Growing up in two vastly different cultures opened my eyes to a new world where I was able to integrate and combine the best parts of the differences, despite the initial struggles. It help me to revamp the way I viewed and identified myself and my surroundings. The realization of the benefits to have a diverse environment which creates a virtuous cycle that can reinspire and prompt new innovations for an increasingly globalized world. I hope to join FuM as I also see it as a platform to meet with peers of different backgrounds and interest but shares common goals and passion. I hope to learn from them and contribute back with my stories and experiences.
